Hair loss is the most dreaded word for both, men and women. Hair fall can be caused due to any reason such as high grade fever, medications, nutritional deficiency, hair abuse, crash diets, auto-immune disease, and emotional or physical stress. Here we bring you seven simple and efficient home remedies for hair loss from your own kitchen.

#1 Onion Juice

Onion contains sulphur that increases collagen production in the tissues, thus helping in the re-growth of hair. Squeeze the juice of a few slices of onion and apply it on your scalp. Leave it for approximately 10-15 minutes. Then wash it off with a gentle shampoo.

#2 Coconut Milk

Coconut milk is rich in essential fats, potassium and iron. Add half a squeeze of lemon, 4 drops of essential lavender oil to freshly taken out coconut milk and mix it thoroughly. Apply it on your scalp and leave it for 4-5 hours before you rinse with a mild shampoo.

#3 Apple Cider Vinegar

This vinegar softly cleanses the scalp and maintains the pH balance of the hair, thus speeding hair growth.  Mix 15 ml of Apple Cider Vinegar to a cup of warm filtered water. Apply this solution and also use it as a final rinse after washing your hair. This adds shine to hair and improves hair growth.

#4 Egg Mask

Eggs have high levels of proteins which assist in developing new hair. It also has sulphur, zinc, iron, selenium, phosphorous and iodine.  To egg white, add one teaspoon of olive, grape seed or lavender oil and honey. Make a paste and apply it on the scalp and hair. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash with shampoo.

#5 Fenugreek

Fenugreek helps in speeding up hair growth. Soak 2 teaspoons of fenugreek seeds/powder overnight in water. Make a paste and apply on your hair. Leave it for 30 minutes and rinse it off as usual.

#6 Green Tea

Do not throw away used tea bags as you now have an alternate use for it. Green tea contains antioxidants that aid in promoting hair growth and preventing hair loss. Apply warm green tea over your scalp and leave it for one hour. Rinse with cool water.

#7 Indian Gooseberry (Amla)

Gooseberry is a powerhouse of nutrients. It’s rich in Vitamin C which helps in accelerating hair growth and preventing hair fall. All you have to do is mix 2 teaspoons of gooseberry powder or its juice with equal quantity of lime juice and apply it. Leave it to dry. Wash your hair with warm water.
