Notice how you connect with some people quicker than you expected to. You may have even felt a pull towards them but couldn’t put a finger on why that had happened. You have similar thoughts, theories, and interests. Sometimes you have even finished each others’ sentences. A random conversation that might have been waiting to happen could trigger the birth of a new bond and you keep wishing that you’d met them much earlier but let’s leave all of that to fate.

Why do we establish a connection with certain people than we do with others? Attraction could be one force, but that’s not applicable in all cases. How do you then explain the similar interests, theories, the inexplicable pull you feel towards a certain someone and the like-mindedness?

There’s a very humble theory concocted which explains why this happens. It’s called The Bigger Brain Theory. What the theory explains is that the reason why we click with certain individuals in a matter of hours is because we’re part of a Bigger Brain.
Now who created us or how life came into existence is a whole another argument. All that we know comes from the brain.

How are we shaped is through nurture and nature? The Upbringing and the environment in which that takes place pave the way to how we will turn out as individuals later. But all that is stored in the brain. The theory says that the reason people are like-minded and feel a pull towards each other is because they are said to share a brain.

Wired in a similar way is why people feel that pull towards a certain someone you may have just exchanged greetings with but never had a conversation. The like-mindedness is discovered when the two individuals have a one on one or something similar to a conversation. They are not necessarily said to be attracted to each other but have an energy around them that leaves a mark on the opposite person making it hard to forget them.
In Plato’s The Symposium, he says that “According to Greek Mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate beings, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves.”

This provides a certain amount weight to the bigger brain theory where humans did share a mind. The brain is the source of everything we think or end up doing. It’s what commands and guides us. Mind over matter shows just how powerful it really is. No wonder it’s been divided among a few people.
