Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has been in the limelight recently for number of reasons. And the current one is for criticizing Malala Yousufzai and Nobel Prize at one go. For most of the people Nobel Prize is an honor which they highly respect. But Sri Sri Ravi Shankar doesn’t think that way.

While he was in Latur District in Maharashtra, few journalists asked him whether he was interested in Nobel Prize. Deccan Herald quoted him saying, “I was in the past offered the Nobel Peace Prize, but I reject ted it as I only believe in working and not in being honored for my work”. What sparked the furor is when he commented on Malala Yousafzai and said, “What is the importance of an award to a 16-year –old girl, without even looking at what she has contributed.

We all have right to feel and believe on our own but it also important to know facts. Surely, Ravi Shankar is not aware of Malala’s contribution towards peace and women education. Malala was shot in the head by Taliban activists for standing up for women education. Defying every norm and putting her life at danger, Malala continues to fight for women education and she received the Nobel peace price for “struggle against the suppression of Children”. Youth of her age think about college crushes and which new club to party at. Obviously she has not contributed nothing (sarcasm).

And this isn’t the first time that Sri Sri is in the news. Very recently he had organized a flamboyant cultural festival on the bank of River Yamuna, which, according to the ecologists, had caused tremendous damage to the local environment.
