Celeb weddings are not only theirs but of the whole world including their fans, lovers, stalkers and even haters. Last year, we went ‘aww’ over the wedding pictures and every wedding detail of the ever so gorgeous couple, Virushka. This year, we hope to see Sonam Kapoor’s wedding with her longtime beau, Anand Ahuja, as per the rumours which are doing the rounds. But, there is one more wedding which is going to be the celebration of the year and talk of every town in 2018. Yes, I am talking about the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Undoubtedly, it is going to be the most lavish wedding of the year as it is the wedding of the royal family and we cannot wait to get a glimpse of it.
Here are all the details which you must know about the royal wedding. I am sure you would not want to miss out on this detail of the lavish wedding.
The Destined Date
The royal wedding date is on May 19th. This date was officially confirmed by Kensington Palace on December 15th via Twitter. The couple got engaged in November and are going to be married on a Saturday at 12 pm. Marrying on a Saturday is against the tradition of the royal family. In the past, all the royal weddings took place on weekdays and the wedding day was announced as a public holiday. Since, this wedding is going to take place on a Saturday, there is no question about a day off.
The Dreamy Destination
The dreamy Church where this royal couple is tying the knot is at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor. It is an iconic church where Prince Harry was christened. Other famous events at this Church were the marriage of Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the marriage of the Earl and Countess of Wessex and also Henry VIII and Princess Margaret were buried here.
The Grand Guest List
The royal wedding definitely demands a royal invitation for the guests. Strong rumours are doing the rounds that the current President Donald Trump may not be invited but the ex-president, Barack Obama may be the main guest of the event. Around 2,640 people have been invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wedding.
The Grandeur Traditional Wedding Invite
The wedding invites will be made by the Royal Warrant holders Barnard and Westwood. They have been in the work of making these royal invitations since 1985. The wedding cards will be the English cards and American ink would be used to write on it. They will be printed in gold and black. The cards would be beautifully gilded around the edges and also would be burnished to bring out the shine.
That Perfect Dress of the Lifetime
The royal wedding is obviously the most talked about event that is going to happen in 2018. Hence, a lot of rumours are going to make their marks till the final event actually happens. And there is no perfect and accurate information as who is going to be the lead designer for Meghan’s dress. But, as I said rumours are going to happen and the same happened with her dress. Israel based designer Inbal Dror was asked to show some sketches and come up with some exquisite ideas for the bride’s wedding dress. But, those sketches were leaked and a lot of comments went around on those sketches. Still, some of the designers who are speculated to be on board for this wedding could be Ralph and Russo, Erdem and Alexander McQueen as these designers are the top favourites of the queen. She even chose Ralph and Russo for her engagement trousseau.
Decorations and Bouquet
As for the bouquet and the celebrations, her choice of flowers is peonies. Also, as per the traditions and ethics, the sprig of myrtle that is grown from the Queen Victoria’s bouquet will also be featured. The celebrations will happen at the two receptions at the St George’s Hall for all the dearest guests. To join in the celebration, the pubs and the clubs of the country will be licensed and given permission to be open until 1 am.
The Pretty Wedding Cake
The event will be completed by the beautiful cake by a London based bakery called Violet Bakery which would be baked by the famous pastry chef Claire Ptak. We cannot wait to see the pictures of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wedding cake.
Best Man’s Clashes
The date for the royal wedding clashes with the date of FA Final cup at Wembley. It is the match which the Duke of Cambridge, usually attends to present the trophy as the President of the Football Association. However, the palace has insisted that events won’t clash as the match will not begin until 5.30 pm and the wedding ceremony starts at 1 pm. But, yes, he may miss out on the Champagne reception.
The previous royal weddings were of Mark Philips and Princess Anne in 1973, Prince Charles and Diana Spencer in 1981, and Prince William to Kate Middleton in 2011. Everyone got their days off to celebrate these royal weddings. And this one is already happening on a Saturday and pubs are allowed to be open up until 1 am to join in the celebrations. So, make sure you bookmark the dates and maybe binge that entire weekend seeing the videos and pictures of this wedding. We have given you all the possible details in this space and even we are looking forward to some more exciting news about this grand wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
