Book Clubs are like the versions of Paradise made just for the book lovers. It is a platform where they get the chance to discuss about the books and talk about the characters. Last year, Emma Watson also launched a book club via her official Twitter handle.
Child stars are infamous for having a troubled life. Chances are high that they end up in rehab for substance abuse. Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Jodie Sweetin, Lindsay Lohan, Macaulay Culkin, Miley Cyrus are all examples of this.
But there are a few child actors who are able to breakaway from this norm. One of the most popular such celebrity is Emma Watson. Emma Watson graduated from the prestigious Brown University. She was appointed as the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and helped launch the UN Women campaign HeForShe. In this campaign she calls for men to advocate gender equality.
After considering a number suggestions including Hermione’s army, she decided on the name ‘Our Shared Shelf’ suggested by Twitter user @emilyfab. Emma received a good response from the public. Retired American footballer Abby Wambach, singer Kate Voegele and actress Sophia Bush were the first celebrity members of the club.
The first book Watson selected was, “My life on Tour” American feminist Gloria Steinem’s latest memoire. She rated the book 4 out of 5 stars.
The book club mostly operates on Goodreads and is extremely active unlike those dormant book clubs. Have you joined her book club yet? If not then go ahead and join the Watson Club.
