Women play an important role as decision makers. Whether it is a house purchase, career change or buying a car; women have always influenced the buying decision. The television advertisements today target women but only when it comes to washing powder, beauty products or cooking healthy food for family. Advertisements for cars, insurance, finance and other such commodities still target the man of the house.
This festive season, Ford has taken a different approach and has targeted the right gender (read: women) that plays a crucial role when it comes to car purchase. The commercial features Kalki Koechlin who empowers Women of Today and is looked upon by many of us as role model. Her openness and frankness has made women open and talk about issues that were considered taboo. She specifically spoken about how women need to protect themselves. Her thought and belief has helped Ford bring out the core message your safety in your hands beautifully in the commercial.
We are also happy that Ford‘s commercial is empowering women around Raksha Bandhan and not around International Women’s Day because you really don’t need a day to make women feel empowered!
