The first thing that comes to anybody’s mind while we talk of movies is our very own BOLLYWOOD. We all have after all grown up since childhood on doses of bollywood movies from time to time. Every movie buff needs to have his share of fun and entertainment atleast twice a month. So here are actors from Delhi who made it big in bollywood.


Bollywood’s King Khan aka Baadshah of Bollywood , SRK as he’s fondly called has been born and brought up in our very own Delhi. Starting his career from television programmes like “Fauji” to movies like Swades, My Name Is Khan , Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham to name a few, Shahrukh has also been conferred by the Government of India with Padma Shri and Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the Legion D’honneur by the Government of France.


Coming from a humble background , Sushant Singh Rajput was born in Bihar but later shifted to Delhi in early 2000’s with his family. He completed his schooling from Delhi only and his Mechanical Engineering from Delhi Technological University. Starting his career as a student of Shiamak Davar ,to being part of various theatres groups, he has also tasted success as his stint on television making him one of the most popular faces.


Born and brought up in Delhi itself , our very own Gulshan Grover is a Delhiite. A commerce degree holder from Shri Ram College of Commerce, he has been a theatre actor too and was part of the famous “Little Theatre Group’ before he moved to Mumbai to try his luck as an actor.

He has close to 400 films under his name in his career spanning over 25 years and few Hollywood films like ‘Desperate Endeavours’ which also won him the award for Best International Actor at New York City film festival and Houston film festival.


Also called fondly as “Khiladi” , Akshay Kumar has been born and brought up in Delhi. He spent his initials years in Delhi before moving to Mumbai and completed his further education. Not many know that his real name is Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia and that he is a trained Martial Arts expert. Apart from being an actor he’s the proud owner of his Production House going by the name Hari Om Entertainment. He has also received the famous Rajiv Gandhi award and the Padma Shri from the Government of India.
