This is one of the most definitive movies of Julia Robert’s career , this one surely has to be your list!
As quoted ‘Closer’ features Robert’s in her least sympathetic role till date. The movie throws intense light on relationships, love and lust. Robert’s has brilliantly pulled-off her cut through the edge, icier than the ice role of Anna Cameron . With Natalie Portman , Jude Law and Clive Owen it’s a treat to watch this 2004 American Melodrama directed by Mike Nichols.
There are junctions of love affairs between two couples. Dan (Jude Law) wants to have an affair with Anna (Julia Roberts) though he was with Alice (Natalie Portman). However, Alice overhears and tells Anna. Over the year, Anna meets Larry (Clive Oven) and gets married. Yet Anna and Dan have an affair. Gradually things fall apart between all of them. They try to get back, but it doesn’t work out. At the end it is revealed that Alice who was stripper, it wasn’t her real name.

If you feel lost, then this is one movie you must watch. Julia Roberts will inspire you to discover the self which you may have lost out on at some point. This movie directed by Ryan Murphy was released in the year 2010. It is an adaptation from the book “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Finally, she realizes that she needs to find something to make her genuinely happy. That’s when she decides on taking a year off.
This movie is about her journey through that one year. Her first destination is Italy, where is she eats to her heart’s content (EAT). Then she visits India where she discovers the power of prayer (PRAY). Her final stop is Bali, Indonesia where she finds her inner peace and balance of true love. This movie brings forward the idea of coping with changes and how ‘often in life the ones you initially dislike are the ones you cannot live without later’. The movie ends with the family Christmas celebration where Isabel and Jackie make their peace.
#11 Runaway Bride
The movie was directed by Gary Marshall, the same director of “Pretty Woman”. It was released in 1999.
Maggie Carpenter (Julia Roberts) has run away from three of her weddings. On the other hand, Homer Eisenhower or ‘Ike’ (Richard Gere) is a New York columnist. He hears Maggie’s story from one of the grooms she left at the alter. So, Ike writes a column on her as the ‘Runaway Bride’. However, he is fired for not providing authentic information.
