Indian Olympics Association (IOA) recently chose Salman Khan as Goodwill Ambassador for Rio Olympics. This decision has garnered mixed reactions. Few people support this decision; while few think it is an incorrect decision. While one may argue that celebrities play an important role as influencing the society; the game has certainly changed in the last few years. India has started to recognize young sportsmen and sportswomen talent. A sports player could be influence society just like a celebrity would. This girl from Haryana has shown to the world of badminton that Indians can excel in it. She was the first Indian to win a medal for badminton in Olympics and in 2015 she bagged the world’s number 1 position in badminton. All the more, she will be a participant at Rio Olympics. Need we say more?

He too won a bronze at Beijing Olympics and set a place for Indian Boxers on the international level. Moreover he has also entered into the glamour world by bagging a few movies. He is a role model for lot of aspiring young people and could have been a great choice for this post.

This Hyderabad girl is the current world number 1 in women’s doubles. Her great skills and charming presence has got everyone mesmerized. She could have been a great option too for this post.

This guy is a heart-throb for thousands of Indian girls. Having won the gold in Men’s 10m air rifle at 2008 Beijing Olympics, he literally raised India’s position in world of sports. IOA simply shouldn’t have ignored this man for this post.
