So, the time of the year, for which every Kolkatans eagerly waits for is near again. The Puja is coming! Every Bong can smell it in the air. It’s the time when we can’t wait to hear the beat of the dhaak, can’t wait to see the illuminating lights of the pandals and we can’t wait to be one among the thousands who are yelling ‘Bolo Durga Ma Ki, Joi!’ with mirth. So all the pandal-hoppers, have you planned how you’re going to spend this year? If you have not planned yet, add these seven pujas to your must-watch list right now!

#1 Bose Pukur Sitala Mandir

Bose Pukur Sitala Mandir Durga Puja was initiated in 1950. With the heritage over six decades, the puja  spell bounded the spectators with the creativity and excellent work of art in pandal decorating.

#2 Ahritola Sarbajanin Durgatsaab

Ahiritola Sarbojonin Durga Puja is known for being one of the most popular pujas in North Kolkata. In 2016 this will complete 77 years. This heritage puja draws people with its modern yet traditional essence.  They’ve promised us an exclusive theme this year.

#3 Suruchi Sangha

Suruchi Sangha has been one of the most hyped pujas, if not the most hyped one in the city of joy. For the last few years, the half a decade old Durgotsab has always mesmerized the pandal hoppers with exotic concepts and amusing execution of the same.

Last year, the biggest Durga idol promised by Deshapriya Park became a huge sensation. Sadly, a little mishap happened in the location and it was shut down for the viewers. Hope this year, the puja committee will restore their fame. They’re going to show us a deity with a thousand hands. We’re already excited.

#5 Badamtala Ashar Sangha

Badamtala Ashar Sangha has attracted pandal hoppers from all over Kolkata with its magnificent decors and innovative themes. The almost 80 years old puja should be on your must-watch list every year. They have always hypnotized us with their ingenuity so we can expect they will mesmerize the visitors once again.

#6 Telengabagan Sarbojanin Durgatsaab

This club, which celebrates the biggest festival of Kolkata in a grand way will be celebrating the 51st anniversary of Durga puja. This club near Ultadanga area attracts people over thousands in every year. They have created pandals of unique themes inspired by Indian history, exotic art form, and various vibrant cultures each year.

 #7 Nalin Sarkar Street Sarbojanin Durgatsaab

This Durga Puja is over eight decades old. In previous years, they have showcased incredible themes and impressed the viewers without failing. This puja is one of the biggest attraction of pandal hoppers in Kolkata as they generate a mammoth crowd every year.
