Let’s face it. There’s very little that sucks as much as a hangover. And it’s always the same – you feel and often look like shit, and you’re cursing yourself for having 3 too many the night before. Meanwhile, you get yourself the most popular hangover remedy there is i.e. coffee with aspirin. But what if you’re allergic to aspirin, like me? Here are some quick remedies that could help in making you feel human again, in addition of course, to drinking gallons of water.
1. Fresh Fruits
Alcohol dehydrates your body and makes you feel tired. Fresh fruits like bananas and apples can your body regain the minerals you lose thanks to alcohol. Add a few drops of honey to the fruits to help regain your lost blood sugar.
2. Oil Pulling
An Ayurvedic technique that sounds a little gross, I’ll admit. But trust me, it works wonders. Take 1/2-1 tsp of coconut oil or vegetable oil. Just like Listerine, swish it around in your mouth and spit. Do not swallow the oil. And if you feel nauseous, spit the oil out immediately.
3. Lemon Toddy
Boil 1 cup of water. Add 2 tsp of honey and 1 tsp of lime juice to it, and take sips from it all day.
4. Club Soda
Take 1 cup of club soda and 1 tsp salt and 1/2 lemon. Gulp the mix the same way you drink Eno. The concoction will make you puke but it will definitely clear your body and make you feel better.
Add 8-12 bits of thinly sliced ginger to 3 cups of boiled water. You could also add a drop of honey to the mixture. Keep sipping the drink till you start feeling better.
